Remember that in this life...there is still so much beauty in the world...

Sigh...

It is so great to be so deeply wrapped up into ones self that outside forces and events that occur have little or no detrimental effect...

Or maybe they do penetrate...but not all the bad stuff: just the lesson learned...

Either way its great...

And I think people forget that in this life that we live, that there is so much beauty in the world...

For there is so much beauty in loving someone..even if they don't love you back. Part of the beauty of love lies in the ability TO love...not necessarily being loved...simply because either way you look at it...you grow...

There is beauty in having your heart broken; you grow...you learn...

You become the abyss of what life, love, hurt, pain, & loss bring

You learn who you are, who you were, and who you may no longer long to be

Dionne & Her Metamorphosis

And so it is...I have given into the "blogger madness"...lol. Nonetheless...here I am. Who am I? I am...well I think it would be best to begin by stating "what" I am first...since the former is still being determined...

"What" Am I?...

An African American

A 19yr old

A female

A sophomore college student at Howard University (John H. Johnson School of Communications)

A daughter

A twin ; and older sister

A true friend

A Scorpio...

And I guess that's enough of the surface level anylasis...

As for "Who" I Am...

Well thats still under construction...you see, Im in the middle of a metamorphosis (hence the title). See, most people my age are too consumed with "other" things to stop & assess what or rather "who" they are becoming.
College is one of those pivitol times you're supposed to do that....

Why do you ask?

Well, its imperative that you know, realize, and understand who you are and what you are becoming...
You have to be the one who defines who you are, or else you allow other people to define who you are...
Then at that point you become a summation of what THEY want or think you are and have to live up to the dreams and assertions of others...

Thusly, I have conciously decided to take the time out to carefully assess what I am allowing myself to become so that I can be, "Truthful to thine own self...".
I must note that this is a process, like many other things in life.
Change is inevitable, yet necessary...

Or perhaps, rather, it is better to make ADJUSTMENTS rather than CHANGES, because when you change you forget who you are, whereas if you make adjustments you keep your essence of self and simply make corrections when needed. (Got that one from a friend of mine...I doubt he'll ever read this but he'll kill me if he finds that I used one of his "philosophical quotes" lol)...

...But then again you may need to actually CHANGE because you're just too messed up all over to really build from it all...in that case..ITS DEMOLITION TIME...and CHANGES are NEEDED!!...lol

I'm sure you're wondering why I put such an emphasis on knowing ones self, and of course it has to do with my life. Now don't get me wrong...my life in the great scheme of things has been pretty good...but I've had a few bumps along the way that taught me early the importance of knowing who you TRULY are...and to never allow the things that have happened to you in your life DEFINE you...but rather what you LEARNED from those happenings to define you...

I Guess I diverted from the original question...

Who Am I?

I can't answer that question in its entirety yet; and maybe I never can, being that throughout one's life you're constantly in a reoccuring phase of "self discovery," or rather "self 're'-discovery"...so I'll be going through a metamorphosis later in life just as I am now...But we'll take it one change at a time...

And So It Is...

I shall open my current world of metamorphosis to you...and hope that once I emancipate myself from my "glass cocoon," the beauty of change shall be embraced and loved by those that I come in contact with...just as a butterfly does when it flutters by...
